As someone with roots in three countries, UK, Bangladesh and Sweden, I am passionate about the potential for evidence based policy to boost impact and improve lives both nationally and globally.

From winning Young Economist of the Year in 2010 and gaining an Oxford Education, to supporting international development projects and advising on UK economic policy, I have strong background in economics and policy. Having advised politicians, organisations and government for 15 years now I have key strengths in Economic Modelling, Policy Evaluation and International Development.

Having worked as an educator for almost 20 years, I have seen the power of good guidance to change people's lives. I enjoy seeing the growth of those around me and with extensive experience I have gained valuable insights into how to get the most out of those I work with. I led a team specialising in econometric forecasting, simulation and analysis of policy changes affecting investment and trade. Had editorial responsibility for parts of the budget text and speech. My evaluation of tax policy changes has been incorporated into the UKs official macro forecasting model used by the Office for Budget Responsibility. I also acted as a technical lead for discussions with international institutions (IMF and OECD) as well as on counterfactual analysis for EU Reset and the Growth Mission.

I modelled the economic impacts of major budget and emergency cost of living measures. Co-authored chancellor briefings on fiscal policy trade offs.
Supported forecasting and the macroeconomic impact of the budget. Reestimated parts of the official macro-economic model. Worked with Bank of England and OBR to take stock of supply side of economy. Led on estimating UK output gap. Conducted scenario modelling on lifting Covid restrictions.

Prior to my roles within the UK government I supported a number of International Development projects, with a particular focus on South Asia and Africa. Projects included:

Researcher and Case worker in Theresa Villiers' office for over 10 years, including a full time position when she served as the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland.
Presented a series of bilingual TV shows for Channel S and Bangla TV, the largest Bengali TV channels in the UK.
I have worked as an educator for most of my life - 19 years - tutoring individuals and teaching groups. I focus on economics and maths but have taught over 15 subjects at this point, from GCSE level to university level.
